Cialis (tadalafil) is a drug intended for oral administration used to treat erectile dysfunction. Cialis works by relaxing certain muscles and allowing more blood to flow into the penis. However, an erection will not occur without prior sexual stimulation. The tablets of Cialis are yellow, round-shaped, and vary from 5 mg, to 20 mg doses. Cialis should be taken once a day only to avoid an overdose – so 24 hours should pass between two doses. Overdose symptoms for this medicine include back pain, nausea, light-headedness, fainting, irregular heart beat and nausea. You need to seek emergency medical help if these symptoms occur.
If you become dizzy and nauseated during sexual activity, or feel pain, numbness, tingling in your neck, chest, arms or jaw you need to stop the sexual activity and contact your doctor as soon as possible as these symptoms may indicate serious side effects of Cialis. Contact your doctor as soon as possible if your erection is painful and lasts for longer than 4 hours – you may be having priapism - a condition that can damage the tissues of your penis. Do not share this medicine with other people as this may be dangerous for their health.
